About Me
My name is Tim Mousaw and I'd like to start out by saying welcome to this site. You may ask why I felt compelled to create a site dedicated to the historical data related to college football. I have been a Notre Dame football fan since my earliest memories. My father graduated from Notre Dame in 1967 and went on to become a doctor. This site is a tribute to his memory, his passion for college football, and his passion for Notre Dame. He went on to become a pediatrician. It is in his honor that I call this site Doc Moose Sports.
My identical twin brother and I followed in my father's footsteps and attended Notre Dame as well, graduating in 1999. Like our father, we share a deep love of Notre Dame and college football. Given Notre Dame's history and lore, I loved to dive deep into the history of the program and learn about the great players, coaches, and teams that have been a part of Notre Dame's storied history. I've always been fascinated by the rich history of college football and the stories that have shaped the sport over the years.
Most of all, I'm a college football fan and data enthusiast who created this site to share my passion for the sport and its rich history. My degree is in software engineering and I thought that with my software skills, I could design a site around the historical data of college football and provide an easy to navigate experience for users who want to explore the annals of college football past. I am striving to eventually make this the most historically accurate account of college football on the internet, but it will take some time to get there.
Until then, I hope you enjoy this site and have fun exploring the content it provides. If it reminds you a bit of College Football Data Warehouse, that is intentional. I took a lot of inspiration from that site (which has been shut down since 2020). I detail more about the data on this site on my Data Methodology and Sources page. You may ask how this site is better than some of the other sites that focus on the history of college football. I hope that you'll find that it is easy to navigate and that the URLs are organized in a fashion that you can "guess" what the URL is that you want rather than having to navigate to it or bookmark it.
